Bar/Bat Mitzvah Preparation
“Bar Mitzvah” means “son of the commandment.” “Bat Mitzvah” means “daughter of the commandment.”
Children become obligated to observe the commandments and to take part in leading religious services.
In Kitah Gimmel, students work with their teacher, and the Rabbi, in our new One to One program to finalize their learning of their Parasha (Torah portion), prayers and structure of the worship service. To develop familiarity with their roles during the Bar/Bat Mitzvah service and to gain a sense of security about leading services from the bimah, students also lead worship services for the Hebrew school.
